An extensive site produced by the Detroit Free Press. It has excellent advice on how to do a resume, a cover letter, and an interview. It also has good links to other job sites. This site is a MUST.

MediaLine:

There is a fee for this job bank, too, but it linked one of our recent graduates to her first television job. The minimum subscription is five days for $9.95.

National Association of Broadcasters:

Job listings and career tips.

New England Newspaper Association:

A free job listing maintained by the New England Newspaper Association.

TVSpy:

Has job listings and a daily electronic newsletter, Shoptalk.

CareerPage: National Job Bank for Broadcasters and career advice from the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations.

National Diversity Newspaper Job Bank:

Maintained by the Newspaper Association of America. You must submit a resume to get a password to the job bank.

Radio and Television News Directors Association:

This site has job listings and a lot of good information about broadcast careers.

Association of Alternative Newsweeklies:

Has a link to job listings from around the country.

NewsLink:

A large site maintained by the American Journalism Review. Lists news organizations by state.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting:

American Copy Editors Society:

ASNE:

IRE Job Postings:

National Writers Union:

Job listings for members of the National Writers Union. Membership is $95 per year. You can preview the types of jobs available before you join.

TV Jobs:

There is a fee to use this job bank, but you can use some parts of the Web site for free. A subscription is $30 a month or $40 a year.

Connecticut Broadcasters Association:

Has good links and names and addresses of radio and television stations in Connecticut.

Massachusetts Broadcasters Association:

Has a list of radio and television stations and a job bank. You can post your resume.
