WAYNE A. WORCESTER

Wayne Worcester, a professor of journalism at UConn since 1987, is a broadly experienced and widely published reporter, writer and editor with hundreds of newspaper and magazine stories to his credit.

He regularly teaches Newswriting I, the department's foundation skills course; Magazine Writing, and Literary Journalism.

Worcester has taught feature writing, copy editing and, for many years, a student-publication course that produced an award-winning hard-copy and online newsletter dealing exclusively with Freedom of Information issues. His students twice presented their original work at UConn's annual exposition, Frontiers of Undergraduate Education.

He is the co-author of "The Essential Researcher," a reference for journalists.

Worcester also is an essayist with numerous pieces published in newspapers and an anthology of fine writing. He is the author of two novels, "The Monster of St. Marylebone" and "The Jewel of Covent Garden," and a short story, "Sweet Rewards," in the mystery anthology, "And the Dying Was Easy."

He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
